Ikeja City Mall's car park had been poorly managed for years. Frequent system failures, some lasting up to three months, were caused by a lack of spare parts and undertrained engineers. Fixing problems meant flying in specialists from South Africa, leaving the facility crippled in the meantime. A chronic shortage of imported ticket consumables forced heavy reliance on manual ticketing, opening the door to revenue leakage and fraud while frustrating shoppers and damaging the mall's reputation.
